D! uties and Responsibilities
The following list of duties is not exhaustive, and duties may be added, deleted or changed at any time without notice:
Draft, revise and review various legal documents, including, but not limited to, production, talent, licensing, and other miscellaneous programming and content-related agreements, for various Scripps networks. Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail are essential for this position.
Communicate with Scripps attorneys, various internal personnel, and external agencies, attorneys and other representatives regarding legal and contractual issues, and consult with Scripps attorneys on such issues.
Review requests for document preparation, identify issues, examine prior agreements for continuity of terms and conditions, input/track status of agreements in database, and field inquiries from internal and external sources regarding contract terms, conditions and status.
Perform other duties as needed.
! Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
Minimum of four years of law firm or corporate legal department experience. Experience must include a history of independently drafting legal documents.
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Excel. Additionally, experience with DeltaView, SpringCM and/or HotDocs desirable.
High degree of self-motivation and detail orientation.
Able to prioritize projects on a daily basis in a fast paced environment with frequent deadlines and heavy workload.
Working knowledge of the law as it pertains to contracts, media, entertainment, television programming and/or other content-related issues is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both in writing and verbally.
Flexibility and ability to work with a team to accomplish multiple tasks are needed.
Able to manage s! ensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentialit! y.
Occasional overtime and some travel may be required.
