Sr. DE Underwriter

Description: iServe Residential Lending, LLC (ISRL) is in need of Sr. DE Underwriter right now, this vacancy will be placed in Tennessee. SUMMARY : The Sr. DE Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and analyzing risk on Conventional and Government Mortgage Loans.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILI! TIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- FHA DE Underwriting & Conforming Underwriting. VA & USDA experience a plus.
- Checks, on a daily basis, any investor guideline changes and informs underwriting staff of such changes
- Prioritizes workflow in accordance to closing and/or funding order
- Performs QC on all borrowers, their employment and subject property and investigates loan file for any fraudulent activity
- Assists in the submission of annual HMDA reports
- Obtains all documentation required by automated underwriting system, government agencies and investors to insure sale of loan
- Inputs dispositions or changes in product and/or disposition in loan origination system to track chain of events for reporting
- Provides good customer service with quick turn times and emailed dispositions to Underwriting Coordinator(s), Operations Manager and Loan Officers !
- Contact person for any FHA clarification requirements !
- Overflow administrator with closer/funder to apply for the FHA insurance
- Assists Closing Department with any additional documentation or clarification required by investor at purchase.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years job related experience. Full knowledge of conventional, both Conforming and Jumbo Underwriting guidelines is essential. FHA, VA & USDA knowledge is helpful. VA Underwriting experience is a plus. Some college course work in business or finance preferred.
SKILLS / REQUIREM! ENTS: Basic mathematical skills; self-motivated with strong common sense/analytical reasoning; ability to read and interpret mortgage documents, real estate sales contracts, valuation forms and attorney correspondence as well as company and departmental policies and procedures; strong ability to communicate effectively to customers and peers; goal oriented and detail minded with exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities.
