DEED COMMUNITY SPECIALIST

Location: Memphis Te! nnessee

Description: SHELBY COUNTY GOVERNMENT is presently looking of DEED COMMUNITY SPECIALIST right now, this position will be placed in Tennessee. Detailed specification about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. The Deed Community Specialist will independently be responsible for the coordination, design, direction and implementation of new laws affecting the Shelby County Register's Office in order to meet the informational needs of the organization and as it pertains to customer service. The Deed Community Specialist will supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned employees and is accountable for their results. They will also perform responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures including interviewing, hiring, and training, addressing complaints ! and resolving problems.

GRADE: 51 Minimum Qualifications 1. Two (2) years experience in interpreting legal real estate documents; and
2. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration; or
3. Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
4. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED) Special Requirements Duties and Responsibilities 1. Designs, evaluates programs, and project plans, procedures, estimates, and activities for one or more aspects of staff service for large or high impact programs, projects, etc.
2. Reviews staff services along with the application of future or pending legislation, current programs and services.
3. Communicates between the Register, State, and local lawmakers concerning proposed future legislation regarding the Register’s Office.
4. Works with government and non-government ! agencies with current or future programs or project activities; providing technical advice and assistance.
5. Supervises and evaluates Archives Deeds Technicians and Deeds Processing Clerks in all related aspects in compiling information, identifying current and proposed legislation affecting the Register’s Office.
6. Performs administrative functions associated with programs or projects.
7. Works with other official agencies, individuals, and groups in promoting programs.
8. Prepares materials to update presentations; continually update contact list; and identifies new programs and projects to establish better customer service.
9. Informs agencies, businesses, individuals, and groups of ongoing and new programs available to them so as to maintain an efficient working relationship.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to assist and advise attorneys, title companies, and the general public on curr! ent policies, procedures, and applicable Tennessee Code Annotated statu! es as it applies to the Register’s Office and recording requirements.
2. Ability to make verbal and written reports and presentations to convey information clearly and persuasively.
3. Skilled in using various software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, LIMB 2.0, and ARCMap 10.0.
4. Knowledge of laws and procedures pertaining to mortgages, real estate transactions, etc.
5. Knowledge of Shelby County substantive programs and policies and services of related Federal, State and local programs.
