Performance Show Horse AssociationThe Performance Show Horse Association (PSHA') is looking to hire an Executive Director for the Shelbyville, Tennessee location. The Executive Direc! tor is responsible for the general day to day operations of the Organization, including overseeing the HIO, various Committees, coordinating with all Committees, managing the finances and budget (as approved by the Board), working with all internal and external constituencies, setting up Board meetings, Committee meetings, keeping minutes and other duties as required and set forth by the Board. Must be willing to locate in or near the Shelbyville, Tennessee area. Applicant cannot own, train, raise, judge or show competitive horses from the breeds that need to be inspected. Leadership or experience with a National Local Trade of Political Organization or Lobbying Skills a PLUS! Salary & benefit package to be determined. Primary Duties Include: Manages the PSHA and all facets of the Organization; Collaborates with each Committee established by the Board, sits on each Committee as a member of counsel as designated by the Boards and coordinates the meetings, agendas, and overal! l program for the PSHA; Develops adequate resources, systems, ! and procedures to support and manage the PSHA program, including training of all DQPs Judges, Attending Veterinarians, and other necessary personnel; Participates with the PSHA Boards on any response or strategy to ensure that elimination of soring in the Industry and specifically at all PSHA events; Monitors progress and ongoing coordination with all matters of the Board; Provides guidance and assistance to show managers and other constituents as appropriate and needed to ensure protecting the breed; Assists with ongoing and filing of all show management of HIO filings and reporting; Prepares reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, Committees, and any outside stakeholders as needed; Creates internal controls, procedures, and mechanisms for monitoring and assessing HIO compliance and ongoing programs as needed; Travels as needed to perform position duties; Communication with all outside press and coordinate with P.P. firm. Educational Requirements: Bachelors d! egree or equivalent; Minimum 6-8 years progressive experience working within a business management environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Experience working with all levels of management, professional, and regulatory processes; Knowledge of horses. Essential Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and other materials as needed; Ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from groups of owners, customers, and co-workers; Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; Good leadership, speaking, and public relations skills; No criminal or felony convictions Interested parties should send resume to Te! rry Dotson, Post Office Box 12010, Knoxville, TN 37912, or email to ter! ry.dotson@thetruckpeople.com
