Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program.

The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in the Department of Army and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed.

Positions are open to:
Current students in an accredited high school, college ! (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 16 yrs or older
Must be a current Student with 2.75 GPA

Must be a U.S. Citizen DUTIES:
Aids attorneys in preparing cases in anticipation of litigation or for trial by assisting with exhibits and preparation of the Agency's official Administrative Record. Processes incoming forms, reports, or other documents. Searches files, email folders and other sources for information. Ensures that paper files are current and complete. Verifies accuracy and completeness of information on paper or computer records. Receives and refers office visitors and phone calls and takes messages in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations. Under general directio! n formats a wide variety of correspondence, reports and legal documents, and is responsible for proper punctuation, capitalization, spelling and grammar. Delivers outgoing material to the mailroom and acts as a courier for Office of Counsel throughout District Headquarters. Operates a personal computer including local area network and software including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Acrobat. Also operates standard office equipment including fax and scanner.

Legal Assistant Tasks

Completion of two full years of post high school study (60 semester hours) is required to qualify for this position or have an Associate's Degree.

Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized! by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive educati! on requirements or to substitute education for experience.
