How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

On Board Services is seeking a self-directed individual who has demonstrated operational experience with strong awareness of the Catering operations. They must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that are effective and in line with Rules of The Road. They must be able to communicate upwards and on behalf of the OBS organization. They must have a keen sense of customer impact when performing operational constraint analysis. This position will report directly to the Manager for On Board Services and will have frequent contact with Director, Managing Director, and Vice President level leaders.

  • Responsible for building strong trust-based relationships with our Flight Attendant customer base with in the moment solutions to their Catering problems
  • This individual will keep a watch over all operating activities at a system level for Catering Operations
  • Work cohesively with IFS Crew Assist under quick response times to Flight Attendant Catering questions or concerns Work closely with all OCC disciplines during all tactical and strategic planning sessions
  • Immediate responder and liaison to the OCC during all Catering incident management events
  • Continuous oversight of operational performance and delay root cause analysis for all Catering locations providing immediate insight to delay
Hourly pay range: $20.62 to $45.86 an hour

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Candidates for this position should have at minimum a high school diploma/GED
  • Monitor FACTs comments on focus markets with near real-time responses to Flight Attendants providing closed loop communication
  • Connect and communicate with all Tower Catering agents regularly with pertinentoperational information Responsible for development of safe and efficient problem-solving plans when responding to food safety or operational impacting incidents
  • Communication escalation and tactical engagement with multiple Catering and/or Catering Security business partners
  • Be and expert and lead the activation of Catering business continuity plans when a level of high impact has been identified Support Tower Catering agents with flight prioritization when business continuity plan are activated
  • Work proficiently in tools such as Flight Family, FACTs, Bridge Desktop, IFX, and GP4
  • Closely connected with OCC disciplines as it pertains to aircraft swaps and understanding Catering impact Provide direction to stations when aircraft swaps are necessary driving Catering impact
  • Close monitoring of all long-haul roundtrip meal flights while following escalation protocols Ensures appropriate leadership level awareness of operational challenges and issues for the day
  • Understands the interdependencies of the other divisions and departments inside the OCC to Catering operations Daily interaction at morning operational briefings while reporting out operational status on behalf of OBS Expected to think and act creatively to solve constraints in the name of what is best for the Delta customer Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Previous operations experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Catering operations or mass kitchen and food processing/handling
