The Recovery Manager is responsible for managing recovery activities regarding delinquent or charged-off accounts in accordance with Bank and legal guidelines, including related state and federal reg! ulations. This position is aligned with the routine outbound collections calling process and frequently requires guidance on non-routine situations; ensures attainment of individual, department and Bank wide goals and enhance loss recovery; performs collection activities for multiple products, utilizing various systems and methods.

Team Management / Leadership: Ability to establish and maintain an environment that encourages team work, individual efforts and ethical behavior. Provides effective communication to management, peers and staff to improve results and motivate team. Responsible for managing agent performance to include the daily activities of a team of collectors' and team supervisor's efforts to collect on charged-off accounts. Responsibilities include managing effective work flow strategies, coaching, daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, handling of escalated calls, and monitoring work processes to ensure tasks requiring da! ily/periodic completion meet quality standards and service lev! el agreements.

Manage Strategic Direction: Manage and maintain the post charge off portfolio. Collaborate with Management to develop sound strategies which drive performance. Required to monitor industry trends and related issues while looking for opportunities to streamline processes to make Recovery efforts more efficient. Develop and manage both in-house and external recovery strategies. Performs a variety of routine daily tasks; reviews reports, prepares correspondence; participates in special projects regarding the mitigation and recovery of Bank losses.

Vendor Management: Oversee management of 3rd party collection agencies and attorneys responsible for charged off inventory placed with their Company. Performs monthly performance reviews for each attorney or vendor to insure proper collection activities. Regularly evaluates agency and attorney performance and benchmarks their performance against each other.
! Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent in work experience.
Masters preferred.
4 - 6 years in a leadership role in Recovery required
6-8 years preferred.
Past leadership experience required.
Consumer Collections/Recovery experience or familiarity with Collections Technology (collection systems and dialers) is highly desirable.
Past experience managing Collections is preferred.
Strong oral/written communication skills.
Ability to foster cohesive team operations.
Ability to effectively handle multiple concurrent tasks.
Solid understanding of common business software and common business platforms.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
