The Senior Counsel is a member of the Corporate Services Group in the Law Department supporting a variety of functional groups such as: Information Technology, Logistics ! and Supply Chain Management, and Corporate Purchasing. This position works with business and functional leadership to help them understand, assess and appropriately address legal risks and implications of business decisions; negotiates key terms of business arrangements; and responds to client inquiries.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Draft, review, revise and negotiate terms and conditions of agreements with vendors and outside parties in a variety of areas including information technology services, software as a service, software licensing, IT outsourcing, transportation law, and other areas.
Provide strategic legal counsel to various functional groups and business units on various legal matters including contract terms and negotiations, assessment and assumption of legal risk, and legal implications of business decisions.
Coordinate with and provide direction to outside counsel, manage outside counsel involvement in projects, and ensure adherence! to established legal budgets.
Collaborate with fellow att! orneys, paralegals, support staff, and business clients on projects.
Cultivate relationships with business and functional groups to understand business needs and priorities, and develop solutions to meet those needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:Required:
Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a license to practice law in state of residence
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with an emphasis on contract drafting and negotiation, and business counseling.
Desired:
Two or more years of experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, with particular emphasis in the area of information technology services, software as a service, software licensing, IT outsourcing and related areas.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
