We have an exceptional opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Healthcare Support Team in Brentwood, TN.
Qualifications of the Corizon Health Paraleg al
- Paralegal Certificate required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a law firm or in house legal department; employment litigation experience preferred.
- Experience with Symantec Discovery Accelerator preferred.
- Knowledgeable in e-discovery practices and procedures desirable.
- Requires sound working Knowledge of legal system, legal research procedures and source of information.
- Analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Should have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications.
- Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and WestLaw
Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Paralegal
- Manages employment and commercial litigation discovery requests and general discovery items that are complex in nature.
- Consults with attorneys in the process of filtering through discovery requests to determine which should be responded to in full.
- Partners with IT department to obtain information per discovery requests.
- Reviews bills for outside legal attorneys to ensure billing guidelines are being followed.
- May be asked to monitor dockets once the company has been put on notice to see when filings occur.
- Provides legal support and research skills to Corporate Legal department; works with outside counsel, field operations and in-house counsel to ensure adequate representation of colleagues in subpoena matters.
- May be asked to gather, prepare and summarize relevant materials for use by attorneys in preparation of opinions, briefs and other legal documents. Work products are reviewed prior to submission, however, often develops work product with minimal supervision other than guidelines.
- Assists in completion of special projects and initiatives on an as needed basis.
