Responsibilities
Monitors and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations for Marketing! and member materials. Establishes and maintains contacts with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Manages a team responsible for marketing and member materials review. May spend 25%-30% of time managing special, more complex projects. College degree. Typically have 5 or more years of compliance/regulatory experience or other relevant work experience.
This position manages complex research and regulatory analysis with respect to marketing and related materials that directly support the business; assesses and modifies, as needed, marketing and advertising materials; and is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, and state marketing regulations. The incumbent performs all work with a high degree of independence and discretion. The work requires considerable use of logical thinking and requires decisions based on broad knowledge, background, and experience.
- Provide subject matter expertise on CMS Marketing guidelines. Stay! s abreast of, and monitors changes to federal, and state marke! ting guidelines and regulations and recommends modifications to materials as needed.
- Ensure federal and state marketing guidelines are fully supported by internal processes and workflows via general guidelines, compliance review, filing, and record retention.
- Determines need for and conducts research regarding a variety of issues relating to marketing and advertising.
- Functions as primary reviewer of enterprise marketing materials for identified product area, develops expertise in and direct support of relevant business areas and acts independently with broad discretion in approving use of marketing materials.
- Manages review and editing of marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable federal, and state marketing guidelines and regulations. Scope of review includes but is not limited to content, tone, required disclosures, and legal lines. Determines necessity for attorney review and makes recommendations.
- Establishes ! project plan and manages special projects involving marketing and advertising; works independently with wide discretion.
- Manages the creation and maintenance of internal reference materials for marketing and advertising.
- Determines need for and conducts training to ensure Compliance with CMS Medicare Marketing guidelines.
- Daily interaction with Senior Segment business departments and regular interaction with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Manages a staff of at least two. .
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree, or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years compliance experience with proven ability to act independently and decisively, with minimal supervision.
- Experience in review of Medicare marketing materials.
- Strong analytic, organizati! onal, problem solving, time management, and written and verbal communic! ation skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans regulations and marketing materials a plus. .
