Corporate Responsibility Entity Privacy Officer Duties: Will contribute to the organization s mission and vision by assisting the Corporate Responsibility Program (CRP) team in the planning, design, implementation and maintenance of a system-wide Privacy program, policies and procedures. Will be responsible for interpreting and remaining current with the many laws and regulations that govern CHI and its organizations. Also provide consultative and supportive services to Entities and Co! mmunity Health Service Organizations (CHSOs), herein referred ! to as Entity. Work closely with Internal Audit, Human Resources, Health Information Management, Legal Services Group, Division and Entity Corporate Responsibility Officers, Division Privacy Officers and Regional Information Security Officers. Will serve as the Privacy expert and Privacy Officer for one or more Entities. Provide leadership for the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the organization s Privacy policies, procedures, and tools. Provide consultation services, guidance, and ongoing education to the organization on Privacy compliance issues. Monitor and review regulatory updates and issues relative to Privacy and confidentiality. Conduct ongoing monitoring of Privacy policies and practices to ensure that Privacy concerns, requirements and responsibilities are addressed. Administer a Privacy complaint process for the organization to ensure that Privacy complaints are properly investigated, documented and resolved. Management of priva! cy cases in the issue management system is an essential part of this role. Assist in the enforcement and oversight of the application of corrective actions for failure to comply with Privacy policies. Establish, provide and monitor ongoing workforce education and training related to Privacy. Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of HIPAA related business associate agreements to ensure that Privacy concerns, requirements, and responsibilities are addressed. Work closely with the Regional Information Security Officer and Division CRP Privacy Officer for effective and efficient coordination of privacy and security activities. May supervise one or more MBO/CHSO CRP Privacy Coordinators.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Health Information Management, Business or health care related field required. Master's degree or J.D. degree is preferred. Certification in Health Care Compliance or Health Care ! Privacy and Security preferred upon hire and required within first year! of employment. 5-8 years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, law, or similar field required. Prior work experience as a Privacy Officer in a hospital setting preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the HIPAA, Federal Sentencing Guidelines, healthcare laws/regulations, and fraud and abuse laws preferred. Must have a high level of practical experience in a complex, multi-function, multi-entity health care environment. Must have the ability to work effectively in a large, geographically diverse system. An in-depth understanding of the CHI enterprise and Market Based Organization. (MBO/Entity) business and operational practices, herein referred to as Entity. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and provide formal reports to leaders and governance. Demonstrate a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times. Demonstrate except! ional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff and the broader health care community.
