Position Summary: Engineers in our manufacturing plants, technical centers, and headquarters pr! ovide technical leadership across the Supply Chain. Primary technical resource for Electrical / Controls in manufacturing systems. Identify, lead, develop, and execute solutions for quality and performance improvements on these production systems.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate technical and business expertise to improve systems, products, and technologies.
  • Demonstrate stron! g troubleshooting skills through the use of continuous improve! ment techniques (Lean, TPM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma). Show thorough understanding of the interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment, and people to provide robust operating systems.
  • Develop/maintain material balances and unit operation capability information to ensure optimal production rates, parameters, and formulas.
  • Provide key technical support in capital projects and new product and packaging material testing/start-ups.
  • Conduct capacity studies, enhance system reliability, and identify/implement productivity improvements including new technologies.
  • Develop/maintain strategic technical improvement plans for systems.
  • Serve as a technical liaison for all levels of the company including production/maintenance employees, plant technical and management resources, corporate engineering and R&D organizations, and other plants.
  • Develop/deliver technical training for various levels of the organization and serv! e as a divisional resource in cross-functional platform/technology/product teams.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Develop projects that meet business and regional activity plans.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure all project objectives are clearly defined and achieved.
  • Ensure delivery of scope, time, budget, and cash flow for all projects.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to project teams and the sites.
  • Manage technical project associates that may be distributed across multiple sites.
  • Drive project teams to focus on safety, environmental, food safety, etc. on all projects.
  • Selection of technology platforms to meet business strategy
  • Cash flow projections and tracking.
  • Participate in staffing decisions for Regional Engineering project teams.
  • Capital budgets and purchasing for assigned project teams.
Qualifications Education/Training:!
  • B.S. in Engineering from ABET-accredited program, or Pack! aging Science or related field. Prefer MBA or advanced degree in engineeering.
  • Minimum 6 years related experience in a packaging design environment, quality engineering, and/or CPG manufacturing environment with cross-functional experience.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering principals and knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging or Electrical / Controls
  • Experienced working with High Performance Teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of strategic thinking, managerial courage, innovation management, interpersonal savvy, project planning, and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Total predictive maintenance (TPM) and engineering experience in food or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
Experience:
  • Recognized technical abilities and practical experience with strong capabilities in the following areas: - Theory/functionality of manufacturing systems and unit operations- Continuous improvement techniques (Lea! n, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma)- Food science/chemistry or packaging science- Statistics and analytical methods- Process measurement and control- Advanced computer skills- Mechanical aptitude- Troubleshooting- Ability to understand and apply general engineering principles
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing up to $10M capital investments.• Process and Electrical / Controls experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Developing and executing major projects
  • Managing direct reports and/or project teams
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, listening and influencing skills
  • Strong innovation management
  • Ability to travel up to 60% required
