Supervises and coordinates activities of teammates engaged in one or more functional areas including: receiving, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, and/or maintaining stock records in the warehouse. This position may be allocated exclusively or in part to Abbott. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists teammates in solving work problems. Reviews bills of lading of incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities. May prepare truck driver's delivery schedule. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Assigns teammates to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming merchandise and/or assembling customer orders for delivery. Studies production schedules and estimates hours required to complete assignment. Supervises labeling, casing, or packing of materials or products. Trains new teammates. Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations. Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions. Recommends measures to improve quality and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew. May direct reclamation of damaged product. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: May estimate, requisition, and inspect supplies. May confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Performs additional duties as directed. Job Requirements STRENGTH REQUIREMENT: Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. TYPE OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Acuity, near Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Depth Perception Three dimensional vision. Ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are. This factor is important when depth perception is required for successful job performance and/or for reasons of safety to oneself and others. Climbing Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Balancing Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, or running on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces; or maintaining body equilibrium when performing gymnastic feats. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Kneeling Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Handling Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand. Fingering Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling). Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing Perceiving the nature of sounds. Hearing is important for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on running engines. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING: General knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc. Equal to a high school diploma. B. WORK EXPERIENCE: Over one year up to and including three years.
