Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Description: Aegis Sciences Corporation is at the momment seeking for Intellectual Property Attorney right now, this vacancy will be ordered in Tennessee. The Intellectual Property Attorney is responsible for working with business, laboratory and technology managers to implement IP strategies. This will involve developing an understanding of the business plans, the technology directions, and a working knowledge of existing IP portfolios.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing IP protection strategies for all business segments
• Managing trade secret, patent, copyright and trademark portfolios to support these IP strategies
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP related contracts, including technology licenses, joint development agreements, etc.
• Providing educational training in IP to employees and further developing a culture for protecting trade secrets and other intellectual property rights
• Managing relationships with outside IP counsel
• Review inventions disclosures for patentability and with a view towards proactive and strategic patenting opportunities. Coordinate patent drafting and filing with outside counsel
• Support merger and acquisition activities as they relate to IP matters, including due diligence

Qualified Candidates Must Possess:

• 6+ years experience as an IP attorney. Previous practical experience working in a corporate setting, legal department or law firm preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and very strong organizational skills
• Excellent judgment, strong leadership capabilities, and a highly creative individual with an entrepreneurial drive and strategic thinking skills
• Undergraduate degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or toxicology preferred
• JD from U.S. Law School
• License to practice law in Tennessee
