! Under the supervision of MMS Project Coordinator, the Medical Records Representative is responsible for maintaining the security, confidentiality, completeness and accuracy of the medical records located at Mountain Management Services.
Essential Duties:
Medical Record duplication and distribution based on outside/patient requests
Coordination of medical records for practices that have closed
Fulfill payor requests
Fulfill attorney requests
Invoice for records when appropriate
Maintain logs and documentation for all records
Oversee and maintain practice manager record removal logs
Evaluate contracts for outside medical record vendors
Assist with Compliance Audits: Locate and abstract specific information from charts, Submit audit documentation as required, CHI Coding Audits, Locate and abstract specific information from charts & Submit audit documentation as required.
Assure compliance with all current HIP! AA regulations and medical records laws
HIPAA Breach Investigations
CHI ICD-10 Audits
Conduct random medical records compliance audits in the practices
Assess processes and recommend improvements
Keep Medical Records Policies, forms logs up-to-date and revise as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
